facadeAs many in the community will recall, the old building of Khalsa Dharmak Sabha made way for the present modern multi-level structure in 1996 that included an elevator and a basement carpark.

In 2004, a thorough cleanup of the Gurdwara building was carried out, along with repairs to toilets and the painting of the interior / exterior of the building. The hall at level 2 was also air-conditioned, enabling parallel programmes to be held there when required.

While regular maintenance and improvements had been carried out since then, wear and tear finally prompted the management committee to undertake another major renovation works in 2011 - 2012.

This includes the following:

  • extensive renovation of the langgar hall
  • renovation of the entrance lobby
  • renovation of lavatories. The location of the gents' and ladies' lavatories was also changed.
  • interior / exterior paint works
  • relocation of the general office from ground floor to level 3 (outside the Darbar Sahib)
  • replacement of the Nishan Sahib pole.
  • other general maintenance works

The estimated cost of the project is expected to be between $250,000 to $300,000 and will be completed by Vesakhi 2012. Much of the funds for the project are from the organisation's savings.

Members of the sanggat who wish to donate toward the project are kindly requested to approach the committee (general office at level 3 on Sunday morning).
