Useful Info

The Isteri Satsang (Ladies Wing) is an important and integral part of the activities of the Gurdwara. The Ladies Wing has actively participated in all programmes and activities throughout the year, every year.

Members regularly take the time to assist in the preparation of Guru-ka-Langgar (food in the community kitchen that serves hundreds each week regardless of race, religion or creed), as well as cleaning up efforts before and after weekly programmes.

The Ladies Wing holds its weekly Satsang (prayers and hymn singing) every Monday. The programme starts off with Sukhmani Sahib followed by chaupai and kirtan. The programme ends with Ardas, Hukum Nama followed by Guru-ka-Langar.  Besides the Monday program, they celebrate Pooranmashi and Sangrand every month by doing Sukhmani Sahib and Chaupai followed by Kirtan, Anand Sahib, Ardas, Hukamnama and Guru-ka-langgar. The ladies get together and sponsor Guru-ka-langgar on these days.

Lorhi is celebrated in January by the ladies wing. Multiple families come together to do Sukhmani Sahib  and distribute sweetmeats to the invited guests while partaking in a special menu of Guru-ka-langgar. Then they bring the seniors to the beach in August to celebrate Teeyan and encourage bonding between the young and the old.

Isteri Satsang Outings:

There are no formalities to join the group or participate in the Isteri Satsang programmes. If you can spare the time, simply drop by on Mondays. Partaking in sewa of any kind will be of help obviously, but if time is a constraint, your presence alone will be greatly appreciated. And don't forget to bring others along too!
